I Support Earth Hour

Because I care about our home planet, tomorrow, March 26 at exactly 8:30 pm, I will switch off the lights in my house.

Sad and Scary

We all know that earthquakes are natural phenomenons. Earthquakes have been shaking the earth long before humans existed, even longer before the time of the dinosaurs. But the recent quake that hit Japan and the resulting disasters that it brought is really mind-boggling. Five days after the catastrophe, people all over the world are still shocked and awed by the devastation.

During times like this, one can't help but wonder what would be their fate if stuck in the same situation. I don't know any Japanese nor know anyone who's living in Japan but I am so worried for them. My heart goes out to them, who in times like this still have managed to be calm and strong.

One touching story that amazed me is the story of the loyal dog who didn't left his ailing dog friend. It made me realize that disasters really bring out the best in all of us, both humans and animals.

This dog reminded me of our pet Hehe when typhoon Ondoy flooded our house. Though  shivering and afraid, Hehe stayed and guarded our house since we have to relocate because of the rising water.

Japan may be in the worst situation today but if there's one thing that the whole world admired and learned from them, it's their exceptional discipline.

Up up here we go

The Hot Air Balloon Festival in Clark field, Pampanga has become an annual event for me and my family. For the second time in a row we went to Clark on a lazy Saturday for a pre-Valentine family bonding. Last year, we were'nt able to catch the balloons so this time we made it a point to leave home early (as in really early, read: 2AM) so that we could catch the early flight of the balloons.

And yes, we were able to get there just in time! The hot air balloons were a feast to the eyes as balloons of different shapes, sizes and characters dotted the sky.
